Excellence in Plastic Surgery

Alastair is a fully accredited Plastic Surgeon on the GMC Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery.  He has been a Consultant in Scotland since 2012 and in private practice since 2013.  He has performed a high number of cosmetic surgeries with great results, and always aims for the best outcomes for his patients.  He holds Specialist Fellowships in Cosmetic Surgery and Hand Surgery and travelled the world to train with some of the best surgeons in America, Canada and Europe.  He is an Honorary member of BAAPS council, and shares their strong belief in patient safety and ethical cosmetic surgery.

Originally from Ayr, Alastair studied Medicine in Edinburgh, graduating in 1999 with Honours and the prizes in Surgery and Anatomy.  He completed basic medical and surgical training in Edinburgh and Glasgow, where working in the famous Canniesburn plastic surgery unit gave him ambition to become a plastic surgeon.

Alastair completed a medical research doctorate in Edinburgh then continued his plastic surgery training in Manchester and Canniesburn.  Full 6 year Registrar training in North East England followed, working in Newcastle, Durham and Middlesbrough before completing ihs Fellowships and starting work as a Consultant.
